Owner Sean O’Neill has created more than just rooms, but rather an entire luxury experience offering local food provisioning, airport chauffeurs, a modern butler service, and so much more. 

After a career in the horse racing industry, Sean transitioned to the property market in London with the intention of selling real estate. However, he quickly realised that his competitive spirit and love for meeting new people were better suited to running his own accommodation business.

 “I like meeting new people and being in front of the house. Everyone has a story and I love that,” he said. 

In addition, the fast-paced and ever-changing nature of the industry also attracted him, as he thrives on “the constant ability to evolve and make things better.”

“What I love is that there are so many returning guests. We message each other like we are friends”, Sean reflected. “These friendships grow from me developing a very good service.”

Providing excellent service is the cornerstone of Sean’s mission. Devereux Residences was named after Sean’s grandfather, who always emphasised integrity. Therefore, there is no doubt that the company must uphold these same values in all its endeavours.

A seamless sales and onboarding process

When the residences first opened, Sean listed them on Booking.com and Airbnb, but he soon found himself with “30 tabs open, trying to update everything at once.” 

The impracticality and risk of not having a unified system to manage inventory led Sean to begin the search for better options. 

“I came across Little Hotelier, scheduled a call with a sales rep, and it all sounded exactly like what I wanted,” he recalled. Luckily, Sean’s dream was not too good to be true. Sean stated that the initial sales rep “was more than just a salesman, everything he promised to me, the platform actually does”, and he remained an asset throughout the entire process. 

When it came to learning the software, Sean openly admits he is not the most tech savvy. 

“I really had to lean on the team. Some of my questions were laughable, but they took the time to educate me and taught me things way beyond the platform itself.” Such was the support across the entire process, Sean mentioned that he “feels like I have a little team. We built a relationship.”

Devereux Residences is positioned for expansion with numerous properties set to join its already impressive collection. As Sean adds these additions into his repertoire, he noted that he does so with confidence. 

“I’m not one bit anxious about setting up Little Hotelier again. My only regret about Little Hotelier is that I didn’t use it sooner.”
